If the archiving feature is *disabled* in the preferences, the folder should be hidden. Not a big deal to do once or twice, but dozens of times a day? When it used to be easier? That's a problem. But now, the presence of the unwanted Archive folder forces my custom folders lower in the list - forcing me to have to scroll, each time I archive messages to certain folders. This is a problem because I have my own folders into which I sort my mail. The problem, for me, is that although one can *enable or disable* archiving of messages in the preferences (I've never enabled it it's always been disabled), the folder is visible - and takes up precious space on the small screen - even when the feature is *disabled*. the delete command is only available for the user-created folders at the bottom of. ![]() the delete command under the gear button is grayed out for the 'Archive' folder, just as it is for 'Inbox,' 'Drafts,' 'Trash,' and the other 'default' folders. I contacted them and was told the Archive folder is a new, default folder that was added when we transitioned from MobileMe to iCloud.
